What is Factor Polynomial?

Factoring a polynomial means writing it as a product of simpler ones. The rational root theorem narrows the possible rational roots to a finite list, so each can be tested with synthetic division.

How it works

The tool tests every candidate p/q (p dividing the constant term, q dividing the leading coefficient), divides out each root it finds and reports the multiplicity, then leaves any residual factor that has no rational roots as it is rather than pretending a general symbolic factorisation happened.
