Quadratic Equation Calculator
Solve ax² + bx + c = 0 with real or complex roots, the discriminant and the vertex.
What is Quadratic Equation?
A quadratic is the simplest equation with a squared unknown, and its graph is a parabola. The quadratic formula gives its roots, and the discriminant b² − 4ac tells you their nature before you compute them.
How it works
The tool evaluates the discriminant first: positive gives two distinct real roots, zero a repeated root at the vertex, negative a complex conjugate pair written a ± bi. Every page shows the discriminant explicitly because that number is what exam questions ask for, and the vertex, sum and product are reported alongside.
