What is Partial Derivative?
A partial derivative measures how a multivariable function changes in one direction while the others are frozen: ∂f/∂x treats y and z as constants. It is the slope along a slice of the surface.
How it works
The same symbolic engine differentiates with respect to the chosen variable and treats the rest as constants, which is exactly how a partial is taken by hand. Optional coordinates evaluate the partial at a point, with unspecified coordinates taken as zero.
