Wallpaper Calculator
Rolls of wallpaper needed, with pattern repeat handled correctly.
What is Wallpaper?
Wallpaper is bought in rolls and hung in strips cut floor-to-ceiling. The count is strips needed ÷ strips per roll — and strips per roll depends on the ceiling height, not just the roll's square footage. A pattern repeat adds its length to *every* strip, because each strip is cut from the same point in the pattern so the joins match; ignoring it is the classic under-order.
How it works
Strip length is the ceiling height plus the pattern repeat (if any). Strips per roll is the roll length divided by that, floored — a remainder shorter than a full strip is waste. Strips needed come from the wall area over the area each strip covers, and rolls are the ceiling of the ratio. A strip that cannot fit the roll at all (very high ceilings) is reported, not silently miscounted.
