What is Midpoint?
Averaging coordinates fails near the poles and the antimeridian. The spherical midpoint lies halfway along the great circle connecting the two points.

We convert to radians, project the second point onto the first's meridian plane (Bx, By), then solve for the halfway angle with atan2 and convert back to degrees.
