Pipe Volume Calculator
Internal volume of a pipe run, in litres, cubic metres, gallons and cubic feet.
What is Pipe Volume?
How much a pipe holds is a practical question before draining a heating system into a bucket, dosing a closed loop with antifreeze, or priming a long irrigation run. It is the cylinder volume formula on the bore: π × (d ÷ 2)² × length, with every length unit converted so the answer can be compared with the bucket, the drum or the gallon.
How it works
The bore is converted to metres, the area to square metres and the volume to cubic metres, then reported in litres, cubic metres, US gallons and cubic feet. Since a litre of water weighs a kilogram, the litre figure doubles as the weight — a useful sanity check that also tells you whether the bucket is the right size. Fittings, valves and the pump body add their own volume and are not counted.
