Date Format Converter
Convert dates between common formats like ISO 8601, RFC 2822, and locale strings.
What is Date Formats?
A format translator for dates. One input produces every common textual representation, so you never have to remember format tokens again.
How it works
The input is parsed with the native Date parser, then re-rendered with Intl.DateTimeFormat and manual formatters for each output.
- Enter your input. Type or paste your input into the field above — the tool responds instantly.
- Review the result. Output updates live as you type. Everything runs entirely in your browser.
- Copy or download. Use the Copy button to grab the result, or Download to save it as a file.
Examples
ISO to readable
Convert 2026-08-26T14:30:00Z into "August 26, 2026, 2:30 PM" — or any of a dozen other common formats — in one click.
Common mistakes
MM/DD vs DD/MM ambiguity
11/06 is November 6 in the US but June 11 almost everywhere else. Always confirm the source format before converting, or use ISO 8601.
Frequently asked questions
Which formats are supported?
ISO 8601, RFC 2822, Unix timestamp, and the common locale styles (US, UK, EU) can all be parsed and converted between each other.
Is the timezone preserved?
The instant is preserved. Formats without an explicit zone render in your local time; formats with a zone (like Z or +02:00) keep that offset.
Why do two tools show different dates for the same string?
Usually a parsing ambiguity (day vs month order) or a timezone difference. Setting the input format explicitly removes both.
